A scoping report has been filed for the new Foster and Partners designs at Bishops Place on the fringe of the City of London in Hackney.

It is situated at the northern end of Bishopsgate on a large site bounded by Worship Street, Bowl Court, Curtain Road, Norton Folgate and Hearn Street.

The proposals for the site, also known as Northgate, by Hammerson Plc are spread over a number of buildings with offices concentrated on the southern part of the site adjacent to the Broadgate Tower.

Building 1 will be an inverted L shaped structure cantilevered over the railway tracks it partly stands over and have approximately 76,500 square metres of offices making it around 35 storeys high and roughly 126 metres tall. Building 2 will have 19,900 square metres of office space and be approximately 11 storeys tall and 42 metres tall.

There will also be Building 3, a 51 storey tower on the northern part of the site that is the tallest building in the project reaching around 161 metres tall meaning it will be seen rising slightly above the tip of the Broadgate Tower because of the higher ground level. It will contain the private housing and a hotel whilst the neighbouring 16 storey block, Building 4, will have the affordable apartments as will Building 5.
